As I am exploring Mosaics, I thought I would share what it looked like to make one of my Christmas pieces. This is made with Penny Round tiles.
First step (not pictured) was to prep a piece of wood by painting it. I reused a test piece on another creation for this.
Then I drew the design on the wood to serve as my guide.
Next, I did a dry run by putting my tiles where they went along the guidelines.
Then, it was time for glue. One piece at a time.
Next was to add the grout. I didn't get a photo of this step as my hands were full of, well, grout :-)
Then to let the grout set a bit before wiping it off the tiles. I had to do this a couple of times. Then to let it set for a few days.
Lastly, I framed the edge with rope and added some cording to hang it up with.
